I remember an illustration from the New Yorker that used to hang on my dad’s living room wall when I was a teenager. It was a map of the USA from a New Yorker’s point of view, where the descriptions of all the other various states were some kind of generalized overview from someone who’d never been there and obviously didn’t care to go. We’re packing up the van as I write, and setting off to NV for a second look at the stellar limestone potential that Joe can’t stop talking, dreaming, and thinking about. The funny part is we have a comfy place to stay. We’re renting a room with a few friends here in Ivins right outside of St George, but opting for a few nights in the van seems like a no brainer at this point. I might as well get use to it since it’ll likely be the theme of our next few months and over this summer once Southern Utah gets too hot. Our list includes, but is not limited too, or subjected by any of the following locations; CO, UT, WA, CA, NV and maybe even Canada. I doubt we’ll hit all the spots we have in mind on our Northwest trip, but it’s always nice to think big. (more…)
